Guided tour with picnic

With an old Pony car, a Greek construction of the 70’s, we start our tour from Ermoupolis.

We introduce the visitors to the way of life of the bourgeois class on the island and who this classfounded on Syros the first private club in modern Greece. We head to Chroussa village and all the way we look with nostalgia back in time remembering the flourishing of trade and industry on the island and how the richaristocrats started to move during the summer to their marvelous villas with the green gardens inPiskopeio, Chroussa, Parakopi and Posidonia.

We stop in Chroussa village where we make a ridethrough an old path. While enjoying the fresh air we admire the beautiful Italian style villas who kept their characterin this the beautiful countryside. We continue with avisit of Vafiadakis’ residence with its exceptional architectural interest and we are nostalgic for that golden age with the gatherings of high society and French style feasts in the covered terraces with live music. Wonderful ceiling paintings, old wooden stairs, the old kitchen and a vast garden start to become sweet memories for the visitors..

We end up laying out a checkered tablecloth on a camping table in the countryside in front of thechurch of Chroussas and we enjoy together an exceptional picnic with traditional food like meatballs, fresh salad and ointments accompanied by local wine and wee share everyone’s experience.
