After a hundred years, the fourth generation comes to give its own place in the cultivation of family vineyards. Markos Freris was lucky enough to grow up in the vineyards and he’s well aware that from the moment one plants his first root, until the time comes when even the last drop of the crop swirls in the glass, the wine needs attention and care. He inherited love and experience from his great-grandfather. Working the land with dedication, patience and perseverance he chose to continue the tradition of the family vineyard, with white and red Cycladic grape varieties.

His vision to grow organic grapes and produce pure, organic wine led him to seek winemaking consultants and state-of-the-art technology, such as the creation of the Gravitational Winery to leverage the wine-worthy gravity-free philosophy of must.

 

In 2019, the family vineyard in a flat area of ​​ Pagos village in Syros, is included in the organic farming regime. AIONAS white and AIONAS rosé are the first certified organic wines of Syros and a tribute to the 100th anniversary of our bond with wine.
